I was recently talking to some of our old Grand Prize winners about what they did with their five grand, and I thought they had some cool stories so I wanted to share them with everyone.
As detailed in her video with EJ Quinn Strassel on the OurStage frontpage, Leah Randazzo of Leah Randazzo Group bought a new touring van for her band with the $5,000. That’s a lot of van payments taken care of at once!
When touring this year in Canada, The Matt Truman Ego Trip had their own touring van broken into and robbed! Luckily, this June Matt Truman won $5,000 which went a long way for replacing all their missing equipment so they could party in front of their fans once again.
Jeremy Saville, our June Video Grand Prize winner for the comedy short “Switch”, paid off a lot of bills with his $5,000, which helped him fuel the future of his filmmaking and spend more time writing. You can see the result in his November #1 new film, “Gay Date”.
