I have to admit I have a little space in my heart for Pearl Jam. I associate them with those rebellious, plaid flannel shirt wearing years of my life when I thought it was hip to dye my hair with warm kool-aid. They’re right there with STP & Nirvana. But in all my years of concert going I had never made it to a Pearl Jam show. I had my doubts that they would be able to carry the What stage in the same way that the Police were able to last year … oh how wrong I was…

The performance was tight and well executed with some rather interesting solos and the occasional improv… like when Eddie jumped off stage and shared his wine with some lucky fans in the front row!! He attacked each song with a ferocious energy that would be impressive for a man half his age. And while I still can’t understand a word he’s singing half the time – this was, for sure, a concert that will go down in my history books as one of the best I’ve ever seen.
