I am Gavin Degraw’s biggest fan because I use his music as a DBT skill. DBT stands for Dialectic Behavior Therapy. His music is my therapy. I suffer from Bipolar and its hard to make it through day to day activities. Sometimes I can’t even get out of bed because dealing with life’s issues is hard. Gavin’s music puts me in a good mood and makes me feel like life is worth living. I’m so serious when i say this. He is amazing with his work and his lyrics. They make you think, which is something i like about music and it takes you to another place. Thats how you know music should feel. It relieves you of your problems for that 3 or 4 minutes.
Lets talk about who he is, he’s just a regular guy with talent and i appreciate that so much. I have been to a few concerts before and have met him and he is just that, a regular guy. I didn’t get to talk long conversations with him, but i did meet and greet him and his air is comfortable like you can tell him anything and he won’t make fun of you.I hear of all the stories of people meeting him and they say he’s a cool guy.
To meet Gavin would blow my mind. I would love to get a chance to have that long conversation and find out more about him. To make him more real to me. He is someone i admire very much. I can barley put it into words. I’m writing from my soul right now and I got that from Gavin Degraw. He seems to put his heart and soul into his music. And it would be my pleasure to have a day of Gavin.
