Get Ready to Bumbershoot!

If you live in Seattle, you’re probably getting excited about the Bumbershoot Festival, which takes place over the coming Labor Day weekend and features artists like Death Cab for Cutie, Beck, and the recently reunited Stone Temple Pilots. We’re particularly excited here at OurStage, because three of our artists have won performance slots at this year’s festival: Beehive, Ashleigh Flynn, and Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden.

If you don’t live in Seattle and you’d like to experience Bumbershoot from home, here’s a playlist featuring songs by the three OurStage artists:

Also, make sure to check out our video interviews with bands at last year’s Bumbershoot Festival, including Saturna, Alabaster, and Merrill.

  • These songs are awesome! I used to live in eattle and I do miss it sometimes. Lived there for 14 years! And saw a lot of different things change like the culture and the environment and even people! I love the Emerald City! But now I live in sunny Southern California! With it’s oceans and mountains and deserts! I do miss the rain on occasion and the change of nature and even the Mariners, Seahawks, and Sonics (as well as the Storm and the Sounders). I miss Ballard and the University District and North Seattle and Green Lake and Aurora Avenue, not to mention Fremont and Bell town. And my friends up there, Brian Lichte and Jim Louie and Gerry Davis and Wayne Taylor and Jeff Bleasdall. I miss the change of seasons! and the majetic Fir Trees even in my former back yard on Stone Avenue, not to mention my friend Ed and Hille Boulton. I miss Starbucks and the East side and Key Bank and the law office, not to mention the Social Security Office of Hearings and Appeals. And how about Bumbershoot and the Bite of Seattle, not to mention the Waterfront and Fife and Widbey Island and the ferries, not to mention my old 88 Honda Accord. You are and always will be my friends. Thank yopu Seattle for 14 wonderful years!
