Alright, there isn’t really a name change coming. But OurStage does have a special place in its heart this month for Australian artists. No, not because of that Australia movie that just came out on DVD. Hundreds of users on OurStage are located in the Land Down Under, and many of them have the opportunity this month to participate in the Triple M’s Unsigned Find competition. It’s the perfect time to win some money for an Aussie artist; while the northern hemisphere enjoys the weather getting warmer and warmer, Australia is headed for winter in a few months. The $10,000 cash prize will definitely help the lucky winner fight off those cold weather blues. Looking for something new from the southern hemisphere? Check out these rockin’ Aussie Ourstagers:
Mojo Rising
Aside from being a well-dressed group of talented young men, Mojo Rising’s got nothing to do with The Doors. This groovy dance beat-infused pop rock band is based out of Melbourne, which many people mistakenly believe is the capital of Australia. (Fun fact: It’s actually Canberra.) Feel What You Feel is their brand new EP and it’s available on the Mojo Rising website.
Arcane Saints
Also from Melbourne, the Arcane Saints are a hard rocking Aussie band fronted by Michael John, who happens to be a relative of Iron Maiden bassist and founder Steve Harris. Iron Maiden is appropriately listed as one of their influences, of course. The Arcane Saints have their own new EP available entitled Black Widow Dance, as well some upcoming shows in their native land.
Neon Dawn
Neon Dawn is from Sydney, the other large Australian city commonly mistaken for the capital. (It’s really Canberra, remember? Good.) Their name is probably best explained as it is in their OurStage bio: “The Neon Dawn brings new light, new possibilities, a place where everything and everyone can be redeemed and start the cycle anew after the darkest hour.” The name is appropriate seeing as how the band is comprised of members of two now defunct Sydney bands, DeniM and Novus. Following what seems to be a trend, Neon Dawn has a brand new EP to be released April 8th. It’s called Transitions and you can read more about its release on their MySpace blog.
Sender
Sender’s music has been described as “somewhere between Muse, Silverchair, and Snow Patrol.” They hail from Bendigo, Victoria where they have upcoming shows at the Bendigo Showgrounds and the Downtown Bendigo Rock and Blues Festival.
So don’t just sit there: brush up on your Australian geography, find some new music, and go vote for the best in the Triple M’s Unsigned Find! The channel will be accepting new entries until April 19th. Please read the official contest rules before entering. Artists must be residents of NSW, VIC, or QLD. Stay tuned to find out who wins at the end of this month.

Do you ever wonder where people get all these MySpace and Facebook Friends and Twitter Followers? I found one place to get a TON of MySpace Friends, It’s called SupremeAdds.com but do you know any other ways to get more traffic from social networks to a blog like yours or mine?
Thanks For keeping it on point!
Best Regards
Very well thought out and informative. I’m sure many others enjoy reading this too, but are just a little scared to post – anyway – thanks again!
