Busta Rhymes, Universal/ Motown and Radio One have joined forces to find one promising MC surfing the Top 25 in the “Bust It Like Busta” channel on OurStage.com. From now until May 22nd rap artists are invited to upload an original 30-60 second freestyle spit in the iconic rapper’s custom channel. Some OurStage artists have dropped fresh 16’s for the occasion while others are cutting down their singles to slide under the 60-second rule. With only 4 days left to enter the contest, things are heating up.
Fans, friends and the entertainers themselves are ferociously judging battles within the channel looking for the artist worthy of the chance to be mentored by Rhymes and his label. We sized up the Top 100, looking for the MC kicking the hottest rhymes. What we found was a lot of heart and some serious talent. Here’s a list of frontrunners that we’re really feeling:

I’m feeling you JACKET. Thank you. Everyone competing needs to remember that you need to be high ranking to be eligible but ultimately the winner will be an editorial selection. We asked for freestyle under 60 seconds. If you penned it, pretty sure Busta will know it. If you edited down a previously recorded track, everyone knows it. Maybe he’ll go for one of those entries. My guess is that he’ll choose the artist who freestyled. Ultimately it’s up to Busta though.
There’s a lot of talented people in the contest so it’s going to be a tough decision. If you’re not selected we have more amazing things on the horizon. Don’t give up.

i salute my respects to “JACKET” and “KB@OS” ..as i go to quote on quote vote for channels i come across myself ending up voting the same damn people. it should be set to onces i’ve LOCKED IN i shouldnt see any of them 4 artist until ive gave EVERY OTHER PERSON in the category a score!! there are ppl who i still havnt voted for in channels and they’ve been in it since the beginning of the month! And come on, im not dissing NOR hating on ANYONE’S work.. everyone’s got talent.. but there are fer sure people who are winning these things, and gaining in top ten.. who i kno the rest the world are like “what the, how the ?!” this is turning into unfair work. i have mad respect for this website.. but lets be real. if we went on plays, and how many “friends” and crap over just the votes… we’d have real work on the charts.
