CONGRATS TO OURSTAGE’S HARDDRIVE LIVE CONTEST WINNERS, SIMOOM!

Bands fought tooth and nail all month month long in the hardDrive Live Channel for the chance to open for All That Remains, Lacuna Coil and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster on October 18th at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. Out of 34 entries, Simoom was the one band chosen by All That Remains for their absolutely raucous sound that’s sure to rock some faces off. Having opened for a Crüefest date in July, the band was very excited for the opportunity to open for another large headliner. We caught up with their guitarist, Alain, to find out his thoughts on the win. Listen to what he had to say:

To reward fans for participating in judging the contest, one lucky fan was chosen at random to receive free tickets to the show, as well as a meet and greet with the bands on the bill. Congrats to Chris Murphy from Nice, CA for being the sweepstakes winner!

  • Pretty lame that you got selected even though We were chosen as the band the Fans on the site wanted to see at the show… makes us not want to promote Ourstage.com and not to enter any competitions since the fans really mean nothing if there votes mean nothing… this site is lame. have fun at your show Simoom, and Ourstage. get your shit together -Cylinder

  • To our artists;

    We encourage anyone who wants to comment to do so and to do so honestly. However, there’s no reason to attack each other over a competition that went so well. Part of the fun of the sponsored Channels is seeing who gets selected in the end; this is how it always works. We should be happy for the band chosen by the Sponsor as well as proud of everyone who finished within the top 20, which was the range the selection was made from. The votes do count and they count very strongly: the votes determine which Artists get the chance to be seen by the Sponsor- the votes are the determining factor in awarding that chance.

    While we don’t believe in censoring people’s opinions, if this area turns into a forum for artists to attack each other we will shut off comments.

  • Just to clarify, the BAND was going to choose from the top 10 bands in the contest. So even if your band landed at #1, All That Remains opted for their favorite band. It’s classy to show support for other local bands, that like you, are trying to make a name for themselves. It is not classy to burn bridges you haven’t yet built. Thanks for playing!
