Superlatones: The Hopeless Romantic

posted in: FeaturesPop

Lately, it seems that we are hearing more and more from new and unexpected partnerships between artists of different genres. This is why, through Superlatones, we are creating our very own directory”a musical wish-list, if you will”of artists who have yet to join the collaborative bandwagon.

Spring is finally here, and out of the bitter cold of winter comes a renewed vigor for life, for excitement, for love. Flowers are blooming, the sun is out and the world is breathing a collective sigh of contentment. This week, we’re celebrating that warm, fuzzy feeling with two female artists who have a passion for life and love. So jump in, and let this collaboration take you right out of your winter blues and into spring fever!

The Dynamic Duo:
Sara Bareilles
and A Fine Frenzy

Songwriter Sara Bareilles has been a soul pop darling ever since 2007, when her single Love Song rose to the top of the Billboard Pop 100. She has been nominated twice for a GRAMMY and named one of VH1’s Top 100 Greatest Women in Music. While her sultry, powerful voice has always been the winning factor of her music, the reason we chose the singer for this week’s installment was her insightful, honest outlook on love.

A Fine Frenzy is singer-songwriter and pianist (not to mention future fantasy novel writer) Alison Sudol. With two albums”One Cell In The Sea (2007) and Bomb In A Birdcage (2009)”under her belt as well as a new record set to release within the year, it’s no wonder many of her songs have been featured in movies and on television.  But don’t be fooled; despite this songstress’ stunning looks, her sweet voice and gentle melodies can only be described as a breath of fresh air.

These beautiful women have serenaded us with heartbreaking melodies since 2007, and we think it’s high time they came together. Sara Bareilles’s insightful lyrics paired with Sudol’s organic imagery could be an enlightening combination. With voices like these, its no wonder this collaboration melts our hearts and sends us soaring.
