Soundcheck: Twista To Sign With G.O.O.D. Music?

When Krizz Kaliko released his fourth album, Kickin’ and Screamin with his single, Kill Shit featuring Tech N9ne and Twista, he reminded fans that the Chicago rapper is still relevant¦and really fast.

Tech N9ne said he avoided writing his verse for the song for a week after hearing Twista’s lightning fast flow.

“I didn’t want to write it. I didn’t want to have to write after Twista. Twista’s a murderer so I ran from the track for a week, he said on his blog.  I really don’t like rapping fast because it’s so hard to write but it’s one of my specialties. It was another reason I was running but once I sat down and did it, it came out superb. I think Twista killed everything on it. Everybody’s talking about how much they love my verse. I love it and I love how they love it but they really need to listen to Twista. That boy did something amazing. Yeah I didn’t want to write it and everyone came out beautiful…His verse is just so intricate. It’s just quadruple timing. The tricks that he’s doing in there, you just have to pay attention to his words and what he’s saying in there”so wonderful.”

Still, Twista has been downplaying the possibility of signing with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music since statements he made last month have sent speculations swirling.

He told Thisis50.com, “I don’t know what it’s going to be [with G.O.O.D. Music],” he said. “[The media] takes it the way they want to take it. [All I said was] that I’m open to sign with whomever as long as the situation is right¦it’s all love. [Kanye and I] both from Chi Town and he’s been in the game doing his thing for a long time. I definitely don’t look at it like [I won’t sign under a younger artist]. Like I said, as long as the situation’s right.”

He also spoke to allhiphop.com to further clarify his initial statements regarding the perspective partnership. I really just left it open on my end as a possibility, but as far as us having any talks on anything actually happening concrete, nothing has happened like that as of yet. But as far as that being a possible place for me to end up, as far as me feeling right, then I would say, yes. But as far as anything transpiring, nothing has happened like that yet.”

Still, the tongue-twisting emcee seems eager to work with West again, and may be worried he spoke too soon about their talks.  His previous collaborations with Kanye turned out some of his biggest hits to date including Overnight Celebrity and Slow Jamz featuring Jamie Foxx.

“I definitely think when me and him go in the studio, we have an energy, and I think, what it is that he brings out of me is, like, once he goes into it and has an idea for a song, it’s just different,” he said.

“It’s Kanye, so it’s like ˜wow,’ and I gotta do what I have to do to compliment it or mess with it. So I think I go into a mode when I think it’s time to work with Kanye, and I think when he has a vision of me on a song, he’ll listen and he’ll be like, ˜man, I hear Twista on this.’ And usually it’s a perfect fit when he hears a person on a song.”

Twista also said he’s ready to reclaim his title as the world’s fastest rapper, if fans insist. “I had my little run with it [with the Guinness World Records, it’s cool,” he said. “If I want to mess around with it, if I’m just chilling around, I’ll show people what I can do because people don’t realize there’s only so fast you can go. I’ve been studying that whole science for a minute, so if people want me to get back into it, I’ll do it.”
