Roscoe Dash Tweets Shade At G.O.O.D. Music, Wale Over Writing Credits

Atlanta based rapper Roscoe Dash wasn’t too pleased with Kanye West’s Cruel Summer preview video that came out yesterday. (For the record, we loved it.) Was it the art direction? Maybe the choice of backing tracks? Nope, Dash felt that he didn’t get the credit that he deserved.

“Everybody go get the G.O.O.D. album,” Dash began in a tweet from the 20th, “and listen to #1 then watch @kanyewest interview & tell me y I’m not on the credits.”

Shots. Fired.

But Dash wasn’t done. That tweet was the first in a series of industry and artist condemnations. These weren’t subtweets or vague allegations either.

“The most talented ppl get the least credit for everything and the crazy part is they put in the MOST work…,” Dash continued. “Same shyt with @Wale lotus flower bomb I wrote that for him b4 he even signed to Ross & it went #1….but nobody would kno that cuz I’m not in the credits.” While Dash would later clarify that he only takes credit for writing the hook to Wale’s “Lotus Flower Bomb,” the tweets had already prompted responses from Miguel and Meek Mill.

“I’m not going to explain myself, this is retarded,” Miguel said in a statement to Complex later that day. “Definitely if he wrote a part of it, he should get credit for it but as far as I know, the people who deserve credit on the song are listed. Twitter is definitely not the place to handle business per say.” Mill, on the other hand, was a bit more blunt, tweeting, “Yo @Roscoedash u must not b getting no money b! Lol.”

For their part, Wale and Kanye haven’t really gotten into the scrum. Wale may have subtweeted once about the ordeal and we all know that Kanye only tweets about really important things. Like fine art. And fashion. And self-taken mirror pics of Kim Kardashian.

Sigh.
