Bamboozle Will Not Return To Asbury In 2013

Last year over 90,000 people rushed to the site of New Jersey’s largest music festival, to bask in three days of pop punk, rock, hard rock, electro, and everything in between. However, after making its home on Asbury’s beachfront, it has been announced that Bamboozle will not be returning to the city next year. You can find all the details after the jump.

City manager Terrence Reidy of Asbury Park told the Asbury Park Press:

“Live Nation has informed us that at least for Bamboozle “ because of the economics of doing it in Asbury Park and where the city is and where they are “ it won’t work here,” Reidy continued, But this is not a breakup. This is Live Nation making a determination about this particular event, and that we will continue to work with Live Nation on other events in Asbury Park.

After the highly anticipated return of Bamboozle to the city in which it began, and with so many in attendance in 2012, it was a shocking surprise to hear that the promoter, Madison Marquette, fell short in ticket sales, and failed to make a profit. Especially given that ticket prices had recently skyrocketed.

In 2012, the Bamboozle festival returned to Asbury Park for its 10-year anniversary and it was wonderful, a Live Nation spokesman said. We’re always trying to provide Bamboozle fans with the most spectacular musical experience possible. We haven’t made final plans for Bamboozle ’13, but (we) will let everyone know as soon as they’re finalized.
