Azealia Banks Dishes On Gaga And Kanye Collaborations, Gets Subtitled In Brazilian Interview

posted in: Music NewsPopUrban

Azealia Banks has kept mum in the past about some potential collaborations with some of pop’s heaviest hitters despite some heavy teases. So how do you get a burgeoning star like Banks to spill the beans? Have the interview in another country! I mean, it’s not like everything is recorded and uploaded to the internet for everyone to see these days, right?

Brazil’s Mix TV got a couple of heavy scoops when they spoke with the 20 year old rapper and got right down to brass tacks. So you worked with Kanye West right? What was it like making music with Lady Gaga?

Woah gorgeous Brazilian interviewer, don’t you think you’re being a little forward? Weren’t those collabs just rumors and conjecture?

Apparently Banks had spent some time in West’s Hawaiian studio, the same one that produced the sessions for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. It sounds like serendipity; Banks was out there on vacation, West called her up and invited her down to the studio, so she went over and they, “just worked it out.”

Ok, a bit vague, but what of her work with Mother Monster? “But I worked with Lady Gaga from afar. We worked via email and via internet. We have a song called “Red Flame” and we also have a song called “Ratchet” that I don’t know what she’s doing with it. She’s going to release it when she wants to release it.” Maybe they’ll show up on ARTPOP? Who knows! Let’s get speculating, people.

From there it’s all softballs, though it’s worth watching the whole way through to hear Banks get asked about her “dirty mouth songs” like “212.” Check out the full interview below.
