Yellabird Release And Stream 'Little Brother' EP

In a world bursting with bands vying for even a minute of your attention, sometimes all it takes to stand out is an update of a classic sound. There is nothing quite like that live, raw sound that made ’70s rock so timeless, and somewhere in New England right now there is an up and coming band aiming to make the same impact that those landmark records – from Zeppelin‘s Houses of the Holy to Queen‘s Night at the Opera to Bowie‘s Aladdin Sane – still deliver today. Mix in some Queens of the Stone Age, maybe a little White Stripes, and you might get something like the new EP from Yellabird.

Yellabird have been on our radar since the release of their debut EP in the fall of 2012. A duo with a flair for creativity and love of all things rock, the band boasts a sound that feels brand new, but is undeniably rooted in the greatest moments of classic rock. Their new EP, Little Brother, finds the group sharpening their edge while pushing themselves into a slightly more alternative realm, and we honestly cannot stop spinning it here at OurStage HQ. You can experience the record for yourself on Bandcamp.

Yellabird have expressed a desire to tour in the months ahead, but at the moment no plans have been announced. The Boston-area band have some dates slated in their hometown in the next couple of months. Comment below and let us know your thoughts on Little Brother.
