Moving Mountains Announce Hiatus, Plan Three Farewell Shows

Moving Mountains surprised fans everywhere this afternoon by announcing plans to disband following an extremely short headlining tour later this year.

Taking to Facebook shortly after noon on Monday, Moving Mountains posted an update to fans announcing their excitement over a short headlining run that is set to take place in November. The band announced that they will be joined on all three dates by Caravela, This Old Ghost, and Field Mouse, but it’s what came after this news that has everyone feeling a bit melancholy.

Following the initial update, a second paragraph revealed the band’s intent to disband following the aforementioned tour, which will only feature three stops. The band wrote:

These will likely to be the last Moving Mountains shows for the foreseeable future. Over the years, we’ve been insanely fortunate enough to have the support of such a tight knit fanbase, and we can’t thank you enough for providing an outlet for the music we’ve created. We’re all planning to pursue other artistic endeavors and look forward to sharing those with you. Thank you for sharing our music, and sharing this entire experience with us. See you this fall.

To say we are bummed about this announcement would be an understatement, but we wish the members the very best moving forward. You can view the poster for their farewell run below.
