Lostprophets Frontman Pleads Guilty To Depraved Sexual Offenses

UPDATE 12/18: This a-hole has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.

——–Original Post:

Let’s keep this short. Former Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins has pleaded guilty to 11 counts of child endangerment and sex crimes – basically everything he had been accused of and previously denied “furiously.”

The 36-year-old singer, whose band has sold 3.5 million records, faced charges that include child pornography and, most appallingly, the attempted rape of a 1-year-old. A baby.

Two women, identities undisclosed, have been charged along with him.

Watkins claims to have no memory of the incidents in question, despite his guilty plea, and despite apparently having recorded and kept the episodes of abuse, due to drug use. The prosecutor in the case summed it up, saying, “He accepts he was a determined and committed paedophile.”

It simply does not get more depraved than this case. Quoted by BBC, Detective Inspector Peter Doyle of the South Wales Police said, “This investigation has uncovered the most shocking and harrowing child abuse evidence I have ever seen.”

Lostprophets disbanded after the details of Watkins’ then-alleged offenses initially came to light. Guitarist Lee Gaze tweeted, “That was over quick…. Thanks for the kind words. At least there is closure now.”

Sentencing will occur on December 18th.
