It's my opinion/idea that at some point it should be taken into consideration whether or not the album will actually be finished. As I mentioned in the post, there's no need for this to become another Chinese Democracy (as a fan of Wintersun, that would be a horribly depressing reality). I think that part of the problem has stemmed from the fact that the Time project has almost started from scratch before. If something like that were on the horizon, why not release the album (which I am sure would be good), then begin working on another album?

“The band should seriously consider either releasing the album in the very near future or just hanging it up, happy with the success of Wintersun.” well that wasn’t a stupid suggestion, hell. NB spends a load of money on a whole macpro, cover art for “Time” and Jari has worked on the album for almost five years and you think that just all of a sudden they should just CANCEL THE ALBUM? man, quite a brain you were blessed with! :/

Ahh PBS- Still a bastion for informative and entertaining program. I have not seen the Latin documentary but will surely check it out. The Joe Cuba Wanted record is an essential listen but I really love Monguito Santamaria’s two albums on Fania records- particularly On Top, which is not shown above. Fania recently remastered and re-released a large chunk of their back catalog, making some classic recordings accessible again. Happy Digging!

Talk about timing! I just saw the new PBS doc ‘Latin Music USA’ and they had a segment on latin boogaloo that sent me straight to the iTunes store. I’ll keep my eyes peeled your recommendations next time I go record shopping.
