Ah, St. Paddy’s Day, the day we all get to be Irish. The day we go all out with green dye: shirts, rivers, hair, beer, whatever we can find. Nobody is sober enough to care.
In the face of this most awesome holiday, it is only appropriate that we make an effort to collect some of the best drinking songs on OurStage.
First, let’s get the compulsory Dropkick Murphysesque tune out of the way:
Now, we all know a song doesn’t have to fall into the “celtic punk” genre to be beer appropriate, so lets branch out shall we? How about some pure funk to tickle your ears and help keep the booze flowing? Crack open a cold one and settle in for a smooth, funky ride:
Here is Jen’s performance of the award winning “Cold.” Great stuff.

I first ran into Jen while emceeing the Starbucks Music Makers Competition about a month ago. She was chosen by the Starbucks folks because of her success on OurStage. She was a fan favorite that night, and according to the judges I talked to, just narrowly missed getting sent to the finals.
But it looks like Jen gets the last laugh on this one. Nobody else who played that night has the distinction of being named a number one artist on OurStage!
So anyway, I was thrilled that she made it out to our studio to play a few songs with Joe Feloni. Something tells me we’ll hearing a lot more about Jen Murdza in the months ahead!
Here’s a link to her fanpage. And her song “Gracious.”
