Needle in the Haystack: Yael Meyer
posted in: Features • Pop
This week’s Needle in the Haystack talent knows how to pen a great song. This may have something to do with the fact that she’s been writing music since she was 8-years-old. With all this experience it’s no surprise that Yael Meyer , eventually scored a scholarship to attend Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. However, songwriting is just one of Yael’s many talents. She plays guitar, bass, percussion, accordion, glockenspiel, keyboards, piano, melodica, ukulele and ocarina both live and on her recordings. Her most recent EP”written in its entirety by her, of course”was produced by Bill Lefler (Ingrid Michaelson, Tim Myeres, Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes).
This Needle in the Haystack‘s musical star is on the rise. Yael’s collaboration with Cathy Heller, “Beautiful People”, was recently licensed by ABC to use in one of their network promos. Check her song, “Shed Their Fear” below. Let us know what you think and stay tuned for lots of Yael Meyer to come throughout the week!
