January Monthly OurStage Prize Winners

In a given month, OurStage awards prizes to over forty stand-out members, including artists and fans. We award $1,000 cash prizes to the top-ranked artist in seven top categories: urban, pop, rock, country, specialty, video and pro-performance video. We also award $100 Amazon gift cards to top-ranked artists in over thirty OurStage channels. Fans who judge battles with the highest degree of accuracy are rewarded as “Best Predictors” with Amazon gift cards: $100 to the “Gold Medal Predictor”, $50 to the “Silver Medal Predictor”, and $25 to the “Bronze Medal Predictor”.

Urban Winner: ShaunHMykals – “Rolla Coaster”
Shaun recorded his debut CD in a closet that doubled as a studio, doing most of the engineering and producing himself. His OurStage achievements include a handful of Top 10 rankings in the R&B and Urban Channels.
Rock Winner: Future Villains – “Karma”
Future Villains is a self-described in your face rock band from Los Angeles. Their debut EP will be released in March, but Future Villains is already proving themselves as a force to be reckoned with.
Tennessee’s Lee Gibson has been performing on stage since he was only eleven years old, and is well-known for his voice and his songwriting talent. He’s been a popular OurStage artist over the past three years, and has ranked in the Top 10 in the Country Channel many times.
Pop Winner: Finding Jupiter – “Raze the City”
San Francisco’s Finding Jupiter describe themselves as a “crazyfunsweet” band, and their song “Raze the City” is just that”Congratulations on their first OurStage win!
The Cornermen is a band composed of four very talented musicians playing and recording a variety of cover songs. They’ve had success not only in many cover band competitions, but as notable OurStage Predictors as well.
Video Winner: Michael Todd – “Too Much of Me”
Michael Todd is a singer-songwriter originally from Oklahoma, but has spent the past ten years of his life traveling around the country. His video for Too Much of Me has risen quickly through the rankings to the very top of OurStage.
Pro Performance Winner: Derek Stroker – “Live Performance of Sweet Dreams”
Derek Stroker is a singer-songwriter with an original sound loosely tied to rhythm and blues. He recently released a new EP called Rise and Shine. This live video for “Sweet Dreams” was filmed over the summer in Derek’s hometown of Miami.
