Jenny O., a young and talented singer/songwriter working out of LA, reached her goal of $9,000 to record and release her first EP, The Home, last July. That sounds like a ton of cash to raise, but she actually reached her goal three months early with committed fans and 208 backers to ease things along. A little love from a lot of people can work wonders. Jenny’s talent, plus her fans’ support, even earned her a spot at SXSW this year.

She also offered some personalized gifts in return for donations on Kickstarter, including hand painted canvas bags, a mix CD of her favorite jams, and for a $1,000 donation: a song written personally for you. A grateful Jenny O. wrote “Thank you. Grazie, gracias, merci! With your help, the Kickstarter was a success, and the Home EP is fully funded!” If you’re not convinced that up-and-coming artists deserve a little attention, and maybe your spare change, Jenny O. might charm you into changing your mind with her “Well OK Honey” video below:
