So you love Pop en Español, huh?
Well, what if we told you that you haven’t really experienced Pop en Español unless you are familiar with Kinta Tranzversal, a cool band from Quito, Ecuador that is rapidly gaining fans all over Latin America and beyond?
Here is our advice: If you love pop, you need to get to know Kinta Tranzversal as soon as possible. This band, also known as La Kinta, just won the Pop Channel prize in April on MTV DEMO, OurStage’s Spanish sister site, and is coming back for more.
Although La Kinta has been around since 2007, it wasn’t until last year that the band decided to take the music arena seriously. In the summer of 2010, they took their dedication to rehearsing up a notch, bought new professional equipment and started writing new songs.
After months of hard work, the band finally got some important gigs, starting with the “Vivamos las Fiestas en Paz” concert in Quito, where they shared the stage with renowned local artist such as Papá Changó. Shortly after that came a TV appearance in RTU, and in the beginning of this year they started recording their first single Junto a Mi.
Junto a Mi is precisely the song that has gotten rave reviews from fans on MTV DEMO. Try playing this cool piece and you’ll clearly see why. The song will not only get you dancing, the lyrics will also get you singing your heart out.
What we love the most about La Kinta (besides, of course, their cool music) is the fact that they are really active in engaging their fans. The band is really in tune with what their fans want and communicate with them daily via Facebook and Twitter.
So what do you say? Are you ready to become a fan of La Kinta and experience Pop en Español like never before? Wait no more. La Kinta is here to stay. ¡Provecho!
