“Why would I?”

You’d be surprised by how often we hear this question when we’re trying to turn a friend on to an awesome new song we just found. “There’s no point in listening to anything that different! I already know what I like and what I want.” Well, if we do our jobs right, we’ll be able to convince you otherwise. We’re here to take you to the less-explored corners of OurStage and set the mood that’s just right for you.

Today, after combing through the extensive depths of the OurStage catalog, we’ve unearthed the following chill tunes for you. So pop open your favorite cold beverage, plop down on your comfiest chair and let the music chill your bones.

He's obviously chillaxing to this playlist

“Mesmerized” – Brian O’Neal: Here’s something for everyone; catchy melody, sick beat, unique instruments all set up a smooth sounding song with difference to call its own.

“Seasons” – Anthony: Venture into the Latin world with this songo. The instrumental performance in this piece is so laid back and groovy that no individual part jabs out as you listen, and it flows from start to finish very, very smoothly.

“Higher Ground” – Glen Eden Quay: When the time comes to relax after a day of hard work (or hard play), a surefire way of diving into the chill mood is turning to the happiness-infused folksy duos and their feelgood, lovey-dovey lyrics.

“En Haut De Ces Montagnes” – Bri-anne Swan: As a tag-along to the folk duo, Bri-anne’s songs are all in a similar vein, yet it features only the Canadian’s vocals and a more percussive feel to them. Don’t understand the lyrics? No problem: one thing less to be worrying about!

“Arrival Dub” – Roly: Caribbean-tinged riddim aplenty, this instrumental dub jam is where it’s at. Do yourself a favor and check out the World Channel to find some other awesome tunes, jah?

“Irrationalities”, – nikTex: In a seamless blend of Indian percussion and western melody, this Canadian group channels just the right vibe for a relaxation session. The only irrational thing here would be you not liking this song.

“#KnowName”, – K.i.T.: To close this playlist off, we leave you with some rhymes from the Ocean State. This song chills hip hop without taking away the groove and, more importantly, makes you hang back on the beat.
