Bonobo’s “Kiara” – This tune swings to a hip-hop beat while incorporating some of the most unique and worldly samples one can find. Seriously, this guy should get into film scoring because the music sounds more a cinematic orchestra than an EDM producer.
Tabla Beat Science’s “Big Brother” – An interesting blend of EDM and traditional Tabla percussion, Bill Laswell’s Tabla Beat Science features the internationally recognized Zakir Hussain. Overall, this track has some super wet tablas and percussion. It’s a great tune to end the day, fall back and relax with.
PANTyRAiD’s “Worship The Sun” – This super glitch tune features some traditional Native American chanting. Most commonly known for his original act The Glich Mob, Ooah of PANTyRAiD brings his popular style and favor to this song”making it a must hear for any Glitch Mob fanatic.
Tiffany Scott’s “Your Dreams” – This track incorporates sitar and other exotic instruments from the far East into a stellar soundscape of pure ambience. It’s a good tune is great to start the day with or simply meditate on , your call.
Gramatik’s “Like You Do” – From Portoroz, Slovenia, Gramtik’s sound includes soul, R&B and jazz samples originally from America that swing with a ridiculously hard hip-hop rhythms. Since signing, the guy has been releasing music for free on Pretty Lights Music. If you haven’t downloaded a copy of his work yet, get over there and get yourself a free album or two.
David Scott’s “Rising Lotus” – Rising Lotus is an interesting blend of female vocals and Native American whistle combined with other foreign string instruments from Asia. Overall, it’s got some tranquil sounds and textures.
Beats Antique’s “Revival” – This group’s been getting pretty popular lately. Originally from California, Beats Antique incorporates a lot of Middle Eastern influence into their trip-hop/ glitch sound. “Revival” features instruments such as an accordion and brass section for a super complex and cultural groove.
Deceptive Noise’s “Optimistic Groove” – Closing out this mix, we have a pretty heavy song with loud drums and ambient texture that incorporates digital glitch and static. Although futuristic, the track incorporates traditional drum patterns and rhythms an ethnomusicologist would be more likely to recognize than the common listener.
