Lupe Fiasco Addresses Chief Keef And Hints Retirement In Tweet Spree

Lupe Fiasco has been taking on all comers ahead of the release of Lupe Fiasco’s Food And Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, Pt. 1. First there were the cagey and contentious interactions with various members of the music media. Now the Chicago-born rapper is taking to Twitter to vent his frustrations.

Fiasco went on a tweet tear (a twear?) last night, spurred by a tweet directed at him by fellow Chicago rapper and young up-and-comer Chief Keef. Keef (who caught a lot of microblogging heat when some messages from his Twitter account went out making light of rapper Lil Jojo’s murder) lashed out at Fiasco, saying, “And wen I see him I’ma smack him like da lil bitch he is #300”. However, rather then take the bait, Fiasco chose to pontificate.

“I cant go 4 that @ChiefKeef & i cant let the people i love, including you my nigga, go 4 that either. We kings not fucking savages and goons,” Fiasco tweeted in reply. “i love u lil bruh @ChiefKeef…i really really do from the bottom of my fucking heart,” he continued. But Fiasco didn’t stop there.

“i’d die for them…but they’d probably spit on my grave…i still will die for them…just bury me in a place far from their reach…Amin,” Fiasco went on. “This album will probably be my last…its been a pleasure to have all my fans provide so much love an inspiration for me and my family…My first true love was literature so i will return to that…lupe fiasco ends here…” Fiasco then posted a link to the “unfinished” track “American Terrorist Pt. II (Superheroes).” While the link has since expired, the track can be heard here.

As of press time, the tweets still remain on Fiasco’s timeline. No word on how this will ultimately impact the release of the two albums, The Great American Rap Album Pt. 2 and Skulls, that Lupe has reportedly been working on.
