Like You Wouldn't Watch A Sitcom Based On Cee-Lo Green's Life…

Cee-Lo Green has evolved past the rest of us mere mortals. He is now a franchise in human form.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the singer and judge for The Voice is close to developing a sitcom based on his life and experiences. Having inked a first-look deal with NBC, Green is executive producing the so-far-unnamed project alongside Everybody Hates Chris co-creator Ali Leroi and Happy Madison producer Doug Robinson. The family-friendly show will reportedly focus on how Green is able to balance the various aspects of his life, from family man to musician. Between working on his own show, working on another show, singing, performing, and handling his philanthropic interests, one has to wonder where Cee-Lo makes time to, I don’t know, eat a sandwich or get some sleep.
The sitcom won’t be Cee-Lo’s first foray into acting. The singer had a small featured part in the Whitney Houston film Sparkle this year, and also contributed voice work to the upcoming animated feature Hotel Transylvania, starring Adam Sandler and Selena Gomez. Cee-Lo isn’t the only coach of The Voice to catch the acting bug either; Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is poised to make his small screen debut in the upcoming season of American Horror Story.
How this will rank alongside the pantheon of musicians making actorly turns still remains to be seen. Cee-Lo’s been in enough projects to hone his theatrical chops, though he probably won’t be able to wear as many flashy outfits on the set his sitcom as he’s accustomed to. Hopefully Cee-Lo’s acting will be more akin to Eminem’s performance in 8 Mile (in terms of quality, not grittiness) then 50 Cent’s in, well, every acting role 50 Cent has been in.
