The Good
Whoyougonnacall, K-pop lovers? Gangnam Busters!
News flash: Halloween happened this week. And though we thought Jessica Simpson looked great as a vampy milkmaid, and Miley Cyrus was on the nose with her Nicki Minaj costume, our favorite thing to come out of this year’s Halloween had to be a mash-up of Psy‘s Gangnam Style and the theme from Ghostbusters. Coincidentally, we have the video . Enjoy.
Imagine Dragons, Andrew Bird play late night
Another thing that happened this week: that bitch Hurricane Sandy. While NYC steadily filled with water, intrepid late night hosts David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon kept their shows going, complete with musical guests. It’s no fun playing to an empty audience, but you wouldn’t know watching Imagine Dragons on Fallon and Andrew Bird on Letterman. Check out the latter’s performance below.
The Bad
Deryck Whibley dresses up as ex-wife Avril Lavigne
When your ex-wife moves on to the lead singer of Nickelback, you really have no choice but to comment. So we don’t blame Deryck Whibley and his lady friend for dressing up as Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger for Halloween. Kroeger, on the other hand, wasn’t having it. He tweeted a response which pretty much said that since Whibley wasn’t famous, he wasn’t worth his time. If we weren’t famous, we would be offended by that comment.
Owl City sued for using woah oh oh in a song
That’s right, everyone. An Alabama-based singer-songwriter named Allyson Nichole Burnett is suing Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen for lifting the vocal hook on their hit Good Time from her song Ah, It’s A Love Song. You can listen to the two tracks here. They’re similar, but seriously, you can’t copyright oh in a pop song otherwise you’re going to be in court for the rest of your life.
The Ugly
Cee Lo Green investigated for sexual assault
Not good news for Cee Lo Green. L.A. police are investigating the singer for sexual assault, talking with several employees from a restaurant where Green reportedly dined recently. No charges have been filed and the case isn’t with prosecutors. Let’s hope the self-proclaimed soul machine isn’t also a sexual assault machine.
Lil Wayne gets tongue lashing from judge
Lil Wayne suffered a migraine and severe dehydration in his private jet last week, and had to make an emergency landing in Texas. That little health scare led to Weezy missing a court appearance for his lawsuit against Quincy Jones III. It might be a good thing, because the judge was none to happy with the rapper’s deposition video. Lil Tunechi’s bad attitude on that video”released last month”was considered unreasonable by the judge, and hilarious by fans. We think he’s wasting our tax dollars with this ish. Grow up, dude.
