"Gangnam Style" Is Officially The Most Viewed YouTube Clip Of All Time

The rumors that K-pop was coming to takeover American pop charts has been swirling for years, but no one ever gave the notion more than a few thoughts until Psy broke into the mainstream with his “Gangnam Style” music video release in July of this year. Though we’re still unsure how it all began, Psy’s hysterical music video began to go viral shortly after posting, and has yet to stop gaining traction on a worldwide scale. This past weekend it was announced the video had finally surpassed 815 million views, which officially makes it the most viewed (And “Liked”) clip of all time. While Psy’s success cannot be denied, his actually staying power remains to be seen. Will “Gangnam Style” be a one hit wonder along the lines of the “Macarena,” or perhaps Psy will keep chugging along with singles garnering less and less success like The Baha Men. Either way, he’s etched his place in music history, and that’s more than dozens of today’s actual stars can say for their careers.
