The Bunny The Bear Stream "In Like Flynn"

Victory Records’ The Bunny The Bear are no strangers to the realm of experimental metalcore. In fact, some may say the New York group ushered in the subgenre’s latest iteration of “throw as many ideas together at once and see what happens.” The results of these efforts have, to say the least, been mixed at time, but their latest single may be enough to sway some still left on the fence.
Hitting YouTube today ahead of their forthcoming album release this April, “In Like Flynn” proves that even bands with seemingly no direction at all can find a way to progress over time. The sound is still as spastic as ever, but it’s clearer now than before that TBTB have an endgoal in mind. There is a message to convey and over their last few attempts at creating albums have learned how to better stay away from perils so many bands in their ever-flooded genre fall victim to. You can stream the song below.
Though I have never personally been a huge fan of The Bunny The Bear I can admit to growth when I hear it and this band has come a long way from their debut. That said, the production leaves a lot to be desired and the hook is as forgettable as their last album. I’m more interested than I expected to be for their upcoming release, but I still doubt this band finding a lasting place in their scene.
