City And Colour Debut "Thirst"

City And Colour have released a stream of their latest single, “Thirst.”
Fronted by former Alexisonfire guitarist Dallas Green, who actually started City and Colour as a solo project, the latest offering from the Canadian outfit boasts thick basslines and drums that want to make you move. The song feels drenched in years of Santana worship, but with a fresh indie pop twist that should help C&C garner radio play in the coming months, so in terms of evolution I’m not sure there could have been a better path for Green and his musical cohorts to follow. You can stream “Thirst” below.
Anytime a group that started acoustic evolves into a full electric sound there are bound to be detractors who have a bone to pick. To their credit, sometimes such a move is ill-advised, but in the case of City And Colour I think it was necessary in order to continue to grow. What do you think?
