Iron And Wine Premiere 'Ghost On Ghost'

Monday is typically known as #MusicMonday around the OS offices, and this morning we couldn’t really ask for a better way to kickstart the week. Folk outfit Iron And Wine have partnered with NPR to premiere their new album, Ghost On Ghost, a full week in advance of its release date.

The first studio effort from I&W since Kiss Each Other Clean, the latest offering from Sam Beam and company harkens back to the material found on The Shepherd’s Dog with an added twist of 70’s alt-pop drizzled on top. It’s easy listening, but not to the extent of being boring to the passerby, and proves once again that there is no limit to the creativity of the group. Click here to discover Ghost On Ghost.

Having only listened to the album a few times so far it is hard to make an official judgment, but it seems to go without saying this will be another must-own release for fans of Iron and Wine. Each album has carried its own sound, and while Ghost On Ghost does feel very familiar, it is still fresh and exciting at the same time.

Ghost On Ghost hits shelves April 16.
