Eminem Releases "Berzerk" Video

Eminem has a long history of releasing music videos that offer unique and often hilarious visual accompaniments for his generally vicious wordplay. His early work featured a number of parodies of subjects ranging from movies to celebrities, and now it’s our obsession with technology that seems to have caught Em’s eye.
Enter “Berzerk.” Debuting online shortly after the Video Music Awards, the first single off Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP 2 harkens back to the aggressive delivery that caught the attention of frequent collaborator Dr. Dre in the late ’90s. The official video arrived online yesterday, and fittingly features footage that looks as if it were filmed on VHS. The clip shows grainy images of Em roaming the streets of Detroit and performing in front of an elaborate Beats By Dre ad, along with various familiar faces spliced between archival footage meant to evoke the high energy feel of the music, and finally some obvious nods to the Beastie Boys. It’s odd, somewhat hilarious, and at time downright weird, but is nevertheless completely enjoyable throughout. You can view the clip below.
We know more music from The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will be available before the album’s November release, but at this time no additional information is available. Comment below and let us know your thoughts on “Berzerk.”
