The blogosphere circa 2013 has been crazy for the sistersĀ Haim, and today the world finally gets to experience their debut album thanks to our friends at National Public Radio.
Having been described as a cross between Sheryl Crow, Fiona Apple and Pat Benatar, Haim are poised to takeover the alt-pop community in the months ahead. Their debut album offers 44 minutes of nonstop sonic beauty built upon a strong foundation of atmospheric instrumentation and pristine harmonies. It’s not Top 40 fodder, but it’s without a doubt one of the most engaging pop releases we’ve heard all year. You can stream the album on NPR.
Dedicating time to discovering new music is risky business, and we realize that not everyone has the time to take chances on an album they may not enjoy. To make it easier, we’ve included their official video for “The Wire” below. Check it out, then comment below and let us know if you think they’ll be the next big thing in pop.
