A$AP Rocky Pushes Back The Release Of "LongLiveA$AP"

Hey, I’ve got a joke for you. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: a rapper pushes back their highly anticipated release much to the chagrin of a clamoring fan base.
That’s right, A$AP Rocky fans, you’re going to have to wait a little longer to hear the fruits of Rocky’s labor. In an interview with Nessa of Bay Area radio station WILD 94.9 Rocky, real name Rakim Meyers, talked at length about his to be released LongLiveA$AP, the full length debut and the follow up to the Harlem rapper’s breakthrough mixtape LiveLoveA$AP. “All right, so tell us, the album. If you could tell us anything about it. It’s coming soon?” asks the pink haired Nessa.
Well, not quite.
“I want to say it’s looking like top of the year, first quarter because it makes no sense to put out an album in December,” said Rocky. “Unless you’re doing a christmas album,” Nessa replied. Wait, is LongLiveA$AP a christmas album?! Rocky, why are you pushing the release back to 2013 when you could be spreading some holiday cheer?
No, based on Rocky’s response it sounds like mastering and sample clearances, the latter the bane of hip-hop production, are the reasons for the delay of LongLiveA$AP. It’s not as though A$AP Rocky fans don’t have anything to whet their appetite before his full length drops. By now you’ve heard “Fuckin’ Problem” online (or as they refer to it in the interview, the radio friendly, almost squeaky clean, gee golly schucks sounding “It’s A Problem”), the track produced by Noah “40” Shebib that features Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and 2 Chainz. Oh, you haven’t? Then give it a listen here. Rocky also recently featured on Fat Joe’s new single “Yellow Tape” alongside DJ Khaled, Lil Wayne, and French Montana. It’s a banger, but don’t take our word for it, listen to it here.
But really, LongLiveA$AP? More like LongWaitA$AP.
Sorry.
