Mixtape Mondays: LLoyd, Jitta On The Track, And More!

Welcome to the second installment of OurStage’s latest column, Mixtape Mondays! This feature runs 2-3 times a month and highlights the latest mixtape releases from hip hop artists around the world, as well as those here on OurStage. Two weeks have passed since we last spoke and a slew of great new mixtapes have hit the market. We talked about how great the Fall has been for music in my last column, and it seems that streak may continue well into Winter. For this entry of Mixtape Mondays I have two releases to highlight, as well as some big news from an two artists you need to know before 2013 arrives.
1. Lloyd – The Playboy Diaries (Download)
Hitting his mid-twenties on top of his game, Lloyd’s latest release proves once and for all he has a lot more to offer than heartfelt ballads that make the ladies go wild. His background may be in the world of soulful singing, but on the mixtape market Lloyd has continually showcased a hip hop leaning that deserves time in the spotlight.
2. Nelly – Scorpio Season (Download)
Following a blast of press after his tour bus was stopped in Texas, Nelly jumps at the opportunity to hit fans with a plethora of new tracks. His career may have taken some hits since the “EI” days, but it is clear from Scorpio Season that this St. Lunatic still has a lot to offer.
3. Jitta On The Track – Alphabet Soup/”Smoke Signals”
OS artist Jitta On The Track has been riding a wave of attention since winning the opening slot on Drake’s “Club Paradise” tour through our Rise competition earlier this year and now the time has come for his latest release, Alphabet Soup. According to Jitta, the release is slated to arrive on Thanksgiving Day, but fans can get an early taste now by watching his new video for “Smoke Signals” below:
4. French Montana – Mac And Cheese 3 (Trailer)
“Pop That” star French Montana may have pushed his label debut into 2013, but fans will be treated for their patience with a brand new mixtape on November 9 entitled, Mac and Cheese 3. Click here to view the mixtape trailer.
