The Weeknd Unveils Sophomore Album Title
posted in: Music News
Canadian crooner The Weeknd has been relatively quiet since the November release of his major label debut, Trilogy. There have been singles, sure, but the hype that preceded the songwriter’s emergence in the national spotlight has vastly outweighed the public praise that followed his mixtape series hitting shelves last Fall. That may be due to the overwhelming familiarity most had with the material by the time it was released, as at least one of the thee mixtapes included on Trilogy was over a year old, but as we learned this morning it seems more likely The Weeknd has simply been hard at work on creating something new for all to enjoy.
Taking to Twitter last night, The Weeknd beat all rumor mills and info leakers to become to the first to tell the world about his plans to release a Sophomore effort entitled Kiss Land at some point in the coming months. The announcement was made over Twitter with the reveal of what most assume to be the official cover art (seen below), as well as a words informing fans that the image was indeed the title for the new album.
Unfortunately, knowing The Weeknd’s Sophomore release is called Kiss Land is roughly all we know about the release at this point. Production has been going on for awhile, but anything else is nothing more than speculation. We’ll update when more information becomes available.
