Trinidad James Returns to His Roots
posted in: Music News
When your first single is a smash hit street anthem like Trinidad James experienced with “All Gold Everything,” it’s easy to understand how some people could begin to get the wrong idea about who you are as a person. The song and sound may be ignorant, but there is nothing ignorant about James or the way he sees the world. Behind all the flash and fashion lies a man confidant in his perspective of the world, and now that his initial hype has started to fade the real man is beginning to emerge.
Recently, James was eating in his favorite New York restaurant when Life + Times> caught up with the emcee for their new series, The Genesis. In the resulting video, which you can view below, James breaks down his name by delving into his West Indian cultural background as well as the importance of visual companions to any song. It’s a great piece showcasing another side of an endlessly interesting individual.
Speaking of James’ ignorant sound, a remix to his hit “Females Wanted” just found its way onto Ignorant Anthems 2. Click here to check it out.
