Justin Timberlake Streams "TKO"

When Justin Timberlake returned to pop music earlier this year with “Suit & Tie” many assumed the dirty, drum-and-bass days of JT’s music were nothing more than a distant memory. The gritty, lust-driven sound of Future Sex had been shed completely and replaced with a high class brand that seemed sternly focused on the finer things in life. This wasn’t a bad thing necessarily, but deep down a good number of fans yearned for a return to the sound they had come to love. If that describes you, then we’re about to make your day.
Justin Timberlake has made a new song available for sale and streaming this morning titled “TKO.” The song is the second to surface off The 20/20 Experience – Part 2, which is currently scheduled for release in September. As we teased above, the track pairs Timberlake with longtime collaborator Timbaland against a beat built atop booming snare and bass that all but forces your feet to move. Everything from the vocal delivery to song structure feels like a great departure from the material on 20/20 – Part 1, but that is in no way a bad thing. Justin has a history of keeping fans on their toes with new material, and that is exactly what he’s done here. You can stream the song at the end of this post.
There is not all that much “TKO” shares with fellow 20/20 – Part 2 single “Take Back The Night.” With some artists this could cause concern that an album will attempt to cover too much ground musically, but in the case of Justin Timberlake it only increases our interest in the full release.
