Lucid Fly At Work On Debut Album
posted in: Music News
California rockers Lucid Fly have been making music for well over a decade, and though they’ve released three acclaimed EPs, they have yet to produce a full length album. That’s about to change, as the band is in the midst of production on Building Castles In Air, their debut LP.
Lucid Fly, who were once selected by Ernie Ball from hundreds of OurStage artists to receive a year-long sponsorship, made a name for themselves while stationed in Orlando, Florida, before heading west to Los Angeles. It was during their time in LA that the band’s lineup – formed around co-founders Nikki Layne and Doug Mecca – really gelled. They released more music, and earned a number of achievements and chart placements on OurStage, including two #1 rankings.
With the completion of their new LP on the horizon, the band is looking to crowdfund the remaining steps to get the new music out there. Using the Indiegogo platform, they’re offering a number of interesting rewards to supporters, including custom-made jewelry, house parties, a mystery roll of film, a co-hosting gig on their radio show, and – in one of the more unique crowdfunding levels we’ve ever seen – the honor of being immortalized as a star.
