Festivus: Bonnaroo and Ben & Jerry's – A Perfect Pairing
posted in: Features
Here at OurStage, we’re no strangers to partnerships. We’re proud to provide our community with a slew of competitions and promotions that are made possible through the hard work and clever thinking of many dedicated OurStage staffers. In partnering with MTV last year, we’ve been able to put many of our talented and deserving artists on platforms such as Needle In The Haystack, allowing them further exposure for their art on sites like MTV Music. Festivals are no different, and often turn to a vast array of companies and businesses to meet their marketing and outsourcing needs. In 2008, OurStage partnered with Bonnaroo to source them with the best new talent, and this year we’re doing the same with the resurgence of Lilith Fair.
Bonnaroo has also delved into the partnership pool again this year”but coming from a much different angle”this time joining up with the ever quirky Ben & Jerry’s to create Bonnaroo Buzz, a mix of light coffee and malt ice creams with whiskey caramel swirls and English toffee pieces. Just as Bonnaroo caters to an eclectic audience of music lovers, Ben & Jerry’s is known for having an every-changing array of flavors and production pace that is dictated by consumer demand.
According to Ben & Jerry’s official press release, Richard Goodstone of Superfly”the production company behind Bonnaroo”says that “to create something iconic like a Ben & Jerry’s flavor is a giant highlight in a long list of incredible Bonnaroo moments. We had a great time working with their team to create this flavor. We think our fans are going to love it.
Bonnaroo Buzz was introduced at a concert April 19th at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, where LA-based Ozomatli performed for a full crowd. The newest addition to the Ben & Jerry’s repertoire will be available in Manchester at the Bonnaroo festival June 10th-13th. In true Bonnaroo fashion, the festival will donate their share of the proceeds to the Bonnaroo Works Fund, an organization that has a stellar track record in supporting vast local, regional and national non-profits. Now that’s delicious.
