Soul Searching: Jordan Corey

While scouring OurStage for the best in soul, we came across the beautiful and talented Jordan Corey, whose powerful voice quickly hooked us. Her songs are original, but carry a vibe that would be completely at home on Top 40 radio. We have to cop to some initial skepticism upon first listen to her track “Truth;” like a lot of pop artists, Corey has a seemingly flawless voice, but a lot of those same artists who sound great in the studio can’t hold their own live. So we were happy to experience Jordan in one of her YouTube videos singing an affecting acoustic version of the same song, and found that our doubts were for naught.

Not only is Jordan a great singer and songwriter, but she’s also building an excellent resume. Having sung with multiple groups, she’s had the opportunity to perform along side some huge acts including Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Chromeo, and Drake.
