Dysentery is one of two things: what you get when you try to ford rivers in Oregon Trail, or one of the most crushingly heavy bands to ever come out of Massachusetts. Given this column, you can probably which one I’m talking about.

Now, to be one of the greats in the world of brutal death metal, you need to find the balance between originalityand heaviness while staying true to the genre. Dysentery is on track to step into the big leagues as they work their way down the mental checklist of things a brutal death metal band must or must have. A good mix of hilariously gruesome and downright morose song titles”check. A sound that implies you hate everything, including yourself”check. Riffs in bunches”check. Vocals akin to the opening of the pits of hell”check.
