Around The World In 80 Songs: "Too Late" By Bérose
posted in: Features
It might be spring but the warm weather hasn’t yet reached some parts of the country. So, instead of complaining about the cold air and the rain, why don’t we take a trip to the sunny Caribbean Islands?
In this post, we’ll enjoy El Caribe through the music of Bérose, a duet composed of husband and wife Dominique and Sonia Bérose, two outstanding artists who have been playing modern Caribbean music for many years.
Bérose is an exceptional example of cross-cultural music that really illustrates the history of the Caribbean. Here on OurStage, their song Too Late, a magical blend of tropical jazz and Caribbean fusion, has been gaining fans by the minute. And what is not to love about this song? The French lyrics, the attractive melody and the wonderful voices of Sonia and Dominique, all make Too Late a must when visiting OurStage’s World Channel.
Although this duo is from the Caribbean, both Sonia and Dominique are certainly international stars. While Sonia often performs in France, the USA, Canada and Russia as part of the band Beethova Obas, Dominique has played with world-known French stars like David Koven and Bernard Lavilliers.
In 2010, Bérose celebrated thirty years of making music by releasing the album called Parcours, a compilation of songs that, they say, illustrates their part in the incredible diversity of Caribbean jazz music.
Travelers, now you know. If you want to get into spring mode, just go to our World Channel and play any song by Bérose. Besides the song Too Late, we especially like Parcours and Petit Havre. You will be feeling the temperature rising in no time. Enjoy the Caribbean with their duet. Bon Voyage!
