GuacaMusic: Space Bee
posted in: Features • Latin
If you like Peruvian ceviche, then you will LOVE Peruvian rock, especially when it is played by OurStage band Space Bee. These Peruvian rockers have toured extensively throughout Latin America and even opened for the legendary Guns N’ Roses in March of 2010. They’ve also performed at the Lima Hot Festival with the likes of The Smashing Pumpkins and Stereophonics.
Space Bee describes its music style as something that incorporates a wide range of colors to its music, from Arabian scales to a psychedelic feel, to a powerful, vintage rock sound.

Just visit Space Bee’s profile on OurStage and you will see what the buzz is all about, no pun intended¦
Although the band has been around since 2002, it wasn’t until 2004 that it gained international fame when it was invited to perform at a Latin American festival in East London and scored opportunities to play at various venues in England such as the Grey Horse, Candem Underworld, Dublin Castle and Bull & Gate.
Two years later, the band recorded the album Live in Space! with the reduced budget of only 200 dollars! Their efforts were well worth it. In 2007, they were finalists in the rock contest at the Glastonbury Festival in England and the La Zona de Combate contest on MTVLA. By 2008, they were already recording their next album. Since then, they have been blessed with new concerts, tours and the opportunity to film three video clips of their music.
Here on OurStage, Space Bee has become a fan favorite, especially among those who love to rock. We especially dig their songs Fire and Sin Mirar.
Trust us, if you are into Latin American rock (or Peruvian ceviche) you will not regret getting to know these guys. Enjoy this playlist. ¡Provecho!
