THE SON OF COLLABORATION: THRUYOU

We often encourage users to collaborate with others to create new and exciting music.  Services such as Kompoz offer musicians a set of tools to work together to form music. This form of digital collaboration is fairly new to the public however the idea has been present for a long time. So, what happens when musicians perform separately and then are placed together by a third party? ThruYOU is just that. The owner of the site, Kutiman goes through videos of musicians on YouTube and remixes them together. It’s quite extraordinary.

The man behind the Kutiman alias, Ophir Kutiel, lives in Israel and also has his own musician page. Ophir spread word of this project to only about 20 of his closest friends and soon after, his site was getting millions of hits.

Who knows if the editing skills of anyone else can compare to Ophir, but we sure have a high precedent set for future creations.
