Belle and Sebastian’s God Help the Girl in the works

Stuart Murdoch has been planning his musical God Help the Girl for years and with a $100,000 boost from Kickstarter, he’s finally ready to start filming. The Belle and Sebastian frontman has reportedly cast Elle Fanning as the lead. And he’s opened auditions up to plebeians like us! Ready for your close-up? Get the audition deets here.
Justin Bieber releases teaser for Boyfriend video
We’ve been watching the teasers for Justin Bieber’s Boyfriend over and over from the comfort of our office, and let us just say, it’s getting hot in hurr. Watch the Biebs channel Michael Jackson, snap seductively and get painfully groped by someone wearing a spiked knuckleduster.
The Bad
Keith Moon asked to perform at London Olympics

Organizers of the 2012 London Olympics experienced a massive head-slap moment when they reached out to The Who’s manager, Bill Curbishley, to see if the band’s original drummer Keith Moon could perform during the opening ceremony. Which we all know is kind of impossible, since Moon’s been dead for more than 30 years. Curbishley responded to the moronic request with a hefty dose of sarcasm, saying, Keith now resides in Golders Green crematorium, having lived up to The Who’s anthemic line ‘I hope I die before I get old’. If [you] have a round table, some glasses and candles, we might contact him. Well played, sir.
Leonard Cohen testifies in harassment case

Leonard Cohen fired his manager, Kelley Lynch back in 2004, but it seems like she’s kept in touch over the years. Cohen appeared in an L.A. court this week to give evidence against Lynch, who he says has been harassing him for years despite multiple restraining orders. Cohen has allegedly received upwards of 20-30 emails and phone calls a day from Lynch, who reportedly told the singer-songwriter that he needed to be taken down and shot. If Lynch is convicted, we know what Cohen will say: Hallelujah! (Sorry, that joke had to be made.)
The Ugly
Courtney Love accuses Dave Grohl of hitting on Frances Bean

Frances Bean is one hot tamale these days, but that doesn’t mean that everyone wants to sleep with her. But try telling that to Courtney Love, who flew off on another Twitter rant saying that Dave Grohl tried to sleep with her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain. Grohl responded, calling the accusations upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue. It doesn’t help Love’s case that she tweeted her rage to @davegrohl, who happens to be a German IT guy. Whoops.
Axl Rose declines Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction

Axl Rose has some stuff going on these days”shows with his current Guns N’ Roses lineup and a rumored relationship with Lana Del Rey to name a few. But one thing he doesn’t have going on is a date at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Rose turned down Guns N’ Roses’ induction, which is scheduled to take place in Cleveland this weekend, due to bad blood between him and his former bandmates. Original members Slash and Duff McKagan will attend regardless. Guess Axl’s calendar is open now”maybe he can get together with Del Rey for some video games?
