Post pillow-fight?: Find Vienna

A band who names their album In Your Favorite Colors, and titles the first single City of Flowers most likely has a predilection for romance. For Philadelphia-based band, Find Vienna, that speculation holds true on first listen. “City of Flowers” is pretty pop that ebbs and flows from delicate guitar pangs to coursing choruses. Washes of guitars, background choruses and cycling rhythms sweep through the melody, blurring the edges. Find Yourself is more straight-up rock, with synth static, driving drums and high register guitars that break into almost funk pulsations. Singer Patrick Mencel ratchets up the urgency, making an already big melody loom even larger. Fans of French Kicks will find a lot to like here, and so will all you aesthetes who live for the pretty things in life.
