After nearly 17 years, Longineu Parsons has decided to part ways with Yellowcard. The band announced their drummer’s departure on Thursday, saying, “It has been announced that long-time drummer Longineu ‘LP’ Parsons III has left YELLOWCARD. Longineu has decided to pursue other musical interests. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.” A replacement has not been announced. Parsons’ exit leaves Sean Mackin as the sole original member. It is unclear what this means for the band’s upcoming tour dates, including their slot on this summer’s Warped Tour.
This week’s Warped Tour announcement came last night via FuseTV‘s Warped Roadies, and unsurprisingly has made an already fantastic and diverse lineup that much better. So who are the lucky five that have just been added? Joining Anberlin, Real Friends, Falling In Reverse, and Less Than Jake will be Yellowcard (6/13-7/28, 7/30-8/3), We Are The In Crowd, The Story So Far, Born Of Osiris, Echosmith, and Beebs And Her Money Makers. You can check out the lineup to date below. (more…)
The hugely popular Fearless Records compilation is back. Last month the label teased fans with the news of a second volume of Punk Goes 90s, and today we finally have all the details. The track list will include songs by classic ’90s bands such as Foo Fighters, Smash Mouth, and Green Day, being covered by acts like Yellowcard, Memphis May Fire, Falling In Reverse, and Mayday Parade.
We’re a little wary of the idea of Yellowcard covering The Smashing Pumpkins or Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! taking on Smash Mouth’s “All Star,” but hope we’re proven wrong. You can check it out yourself when the album drops on April 1st, and view the full track list and Get Scared‘s cover of “My Own Worst Enemy” below. (more…)
Hopeless Records‘ nonprofit subsidiary, Sub City Records (get it?) is working with New Directions For Youth in Los Angeles, to build Sub City Studios. The nonprofit will educate teens about various instruments, as well as teaching them the ins and outs of recording, producing, and marketing. Besides the nice feeling you’ll get from helping out a great cause, the label is offering a ton of great rewards including signed and rare merch from Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, and Bayside, to a writing session with Bert McCracken of The Used, and meet and greets with All Time Low and Silverstein. Check out the campaign’s video below, and pledge here. (more…)

“Tried to do some recording today. Turns out singing through all the illness on the last tour caused my vocal chord to hemorrhage and swell. So it’s vocal rest for me for a while. Dr’s orders. So bummed. Could be worse though. He says its healing, just needs some time off.”
Yellowcard recently began working on a follow up to 2012′ Southern Air. Click below to enjoy one of the album’s bigger singles. (more…)
