iRock: Anthem For The Broken Hearted

So you’re in a dark theater, in a some-what comfortable seat with your feet stuck to the floor thanks to some negligent  patrons before you. The film reel fires up and the dramatic opening scene flashes accompanied by music that yells this is the anthem for the broken hearted, are you feeling the same way I do? Hold¦ on¦ sing with me¦ At least that’s what I imagine when I listen to The Lasting from Nashville, TN. This group definitely knows how to write some emotion-evoking rock tunes. Pulling in many influences that span across heavy-hitting guitar riffs, solid drums and strong haunting vocals, this bands’ sound caters to many different styles of listeners; I have a feeling this band will be making waves in 2010. The first track to catch my ear was “Anthem” that contains the lyric I stated above. If any A&R representative for a label were to stumble upon this track, they’d definitely see the potential that The Lasting has to well¦ last.
