iRock: A'tris

Since the birth of music, mankind has been trading and passing down stories through song. To set the mood, musicians provide instrumentation to back the vocalist which helps embellish the melodies, creates images and, of course, evokes emotion. Boston alternative rock group A’tris is guilty of the aforementioned and much more. For fans of Placebo, Muse, Radiohead (just to name a few) A’tris brings many styles ” ranging from darker piano pop rock “Bite the Bullet” which has a The Fray-esque type of feel to a guitar-driven “Automatic Doors” that touches on Placebo’s unique sound ” to the table. Frontman Mason Taylor, who relocated from VA to Boston to pursue his musical aspirations, found various musicians and enthusiasts to make his dream a reality. To date, A’tris is comprised of Mason Taylor (vocals, piano), Ben Azar (guitar), Nate Lueck (bass) and Travis Abel (drums). Listening to their tracks is like taking a roller coaster ride through the mind of Taylor who plays delicately on words and haunting melodies. And you will soon notice this band is not only equipped with musical talent, they wield a lyrical intellect that few young artists possess ” a talent that cannot be overlooked. A’tris is a group that I strongly suggest you to keep an eye on. They are nothing close to ordinary and absolutely a breath of fresh air to the industry.
And so, I’m proud to present this week’s iROCK artist: A’tris!
Enjoy!
