Needle in the Haystack: Mitten

Maia Macdonald, Joanna Katcher and recent recruit Ryan Fitch make up a magnificent team of musicians who came together to form this week’s Needle in the Haystack! Mitten’s music is unique, percussive and melodically unpredictable. It was actually mutual interest in these qualities and style of music that brought the band together. Maia takes care of the vocals, Joanna is the master of the electronic production and Ryan holds down the beat on the percussion. Based out of Brooklyn, the band is currently working on a 6-song debut EP and a mini northeast tour.

Like our past Needle in the Haystack artists, this is far from Mitten’s first musical accomplishment. The group played Phasefest this year with MEN and JD Samson. They also licensed their song Green for a Gaiam.com promo spot.
